General Athletic Training/Sports Medicine Information:
CHHS has a full time Certified Athletic Trainer as well as a Strength and Conditioning Coach on staff. CHHS also partners with UNC Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics for physicians. Additionally, CHHS serves as a teaching site for sports physical therapy residents and undergraduate observation/shadow students interested in sports medicine.
Services provided at CHHS include: Sideline athletic training coverage of practices/home games, assessments, and rehabilitation. Please note practice/home game coverage will be prioritized over assessments and rehabilitation.

About:
Nick joined CHHS as the athletic trainer in 2023. He completed his bachelors degree in Athletic Training from the University of Miami where he completed clinical rotations with University of Miami athletics, a local high school and Holy Cross Health System. He then completed his master’s degree at UNC while Serving as a Certified Athletic Trainer with UNC Sports Medicine. During his time with UNC Sports Medicine Nick worked with the UNC Men’s Soccer and Women’s Rowing Teams. Additionally, Nick also served as a graduate teaching fellow, earning the Marvin E. Allen Excellence in Teaching Award, and conducted research on childhood concussions and their association with anxiety and depression in collegiate athletes. Nick’s professional interests included: Pediatric acute care, concussions, and mental health.

Adam Arounerangsy (Coach A.) is the Head Strength and Conditioning coach at Chapel Hill High School. He has had the privilege to serve our student-athletes since 2022. Coach A. graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with his Bachelor's in Exercise Science and my Master's in Sports Performance. Coach A. has a passion for helping individuals reach their fullest potential, not only as athletes, but in their personal lives as well. The strength and conditioning program utilizes data-driven technology to tailor training for athletic needs.
